SEOMoz.org - Good Resource

I recently found the blog over at SEOMoz and have been finding it interesting. I really like the site design. Very clean and non-obtrusive in color. Their are some really cool tools their as well. They aren't the fastest loading tools, but the ouput of information is great and it's nice to see someone being creative in SEO tools then just DigitalPoint. :)

Aaron Wall does a fantastic job showcasing a "witty banter" between a recent acquired directory the webmaster purchased. Is this the way it's going to be for all new directories?

Making Money with Blogs

Today, I got an e-mail from the "Yahoo! UK Team" (ya...right) giving me a discount on high-paying adsense booklet. "What do I need this for?" ...well if you want to target high paying adwords with your adsense ads, you can do so. Write some copy or post in your blog about the topic/keyword and BAM! ...you have high paying adsense ads displayed. Of course, will anyone click on them...that is the real question.

Smart Tags are back ... New Company

If you recall "Smart Tags", which wasn't such a "Smart call" on Microsofts part a little while back, is now being revived by Google. Google has a new feature within the revised toolbar called AutoLink which links certain words on a page to help you, the user, find whatever it is you need to find. The links will be inserted into address, ISBN, VIN, and tracking numbers on shipping orders. I also found out it has been confirmed that the developer of MS's Smart Tags has helped in the creation of Google's Autolink. Could backfire for Google...or not...we'll see.

Continued: Latent Semantic Indexing

I was thinking more about this the other day. Latent Semantic Indexing, to my understanding, is the mathimatical way of figuring out what a webpage is about via certain keywords on the page. So...if your talking about Apples, when indexing with LSI, you want to distinguish you site between the fruit or the computer. Another way to look at it would be to take out the main keywords on a page and give it to an non-web savvy person to read and see if they can tell you what the page is about.

How do we distinguish? Well, by using other keywords associated with your keywords within Google's own search engine. Using the ~keyword query in Google (example) will bring up other words associated/related with your keywords. The words typical in bold are the keywords you want to look at. These keywords are associated/related with the keyword you placed in the seach field.

What I'm recommending is sprinkle these keywords around your text as well. Give the crawlers no shadow of a doubt about your page. I 'think' there is a form of this being used within Google's 100+ ways of ranking a page.

Higher Click Prices
Search advertising clicks are still on the rise. Inflation of clicks is continued.

Google Sandox...playing in the sand?

There are many theories out there to get out of the sandbox...and just as many webmasters claiming those theories posted don't work by them already trying it. SiteSEO, as SEW forums, start a good thread to try and breakdown the Google Sandbox theory and get some hard facts out on the table.

Finding a room isn't that difficult

So, this morning at about 7:00 AM I decided to set up a profile on Roommates.com and see what's available in THE OC. Their are a potential 335 people looking for a roommate and on top of that...I received 11 e-mails from potential roommatees! :) My recommendation for the week: If moving or relocating and need an apartment, condo, house, or townhouse, check out Roommates.com!

A little about me...

Well, I just finished my 2nd week at my new job at Automotive.com. I'm learning a lot from a company that has been around since the dot com boom/bust and is still around. It's great to see a good, reputable online company flourish like they have over the years.

Automotive is located in Irvine, California. I was born in Newport Beach and I'm currently going to be living in Huntington Beach...in the "THE OC". So the commute won't be too bad. I'm the new guy...and the youngest guy at the ripe old age of 22, but that doesn't stop me from teaching these guys some new tricks! ;)

This company is much different from my previous employer. For instance, ever Tuesday and Thursday we get out of the office, stretch our legs and bit and work up a sweat playing an hour of basketball. After that, lunch is served to us in our office from the variety of eating establishments that surround our building. What could be better? I'm really starting to enjoy myself! :)
