Don't think about it

Barry found a thread over at HR about someone who has been outta the SEO loop for the past year. The poster said he started a logo design business and was working long hours and needed to focus on growing his business.

That got me thinking about the recent Google update, Jagger. So, many people are worried about what's going on. Personally, none of my sites have moved or have moved up a couple of notches. But this guy put his head down and worried about growing his business, rather then the daily activities of the search engine algorithms.

We should all take some notes on this. Some of you worry so much about rankings, when growing a stable online business should be the focus. Get some incoming links from time to time, but plug away at nurturing a sustainable business model online.

I live, breath, eat, sleep, cuddle with, take to parties...search engines. I, too, have fallen victim to the obsession of the search engines. But, I should worry about offline marketing. I should start advertising on related industry sites. I should worry about what my client's want and need.

Something to think about...

OpenOffice is not bad

Over the weekend, I downloaded OpenOffice's suite of products. What is OpenOffice? It's an alternative to Microsoft Office. What's great about OpenOffice is that, for one, it's open-source. Completely and utterly free (that was #2). Last but not least, this suite can also open up MS Office products like Excel and Word documents. Might be worth a gander if you're into the anti-Microsoft thing. Go Mozilla Firefox! :)

No time for...

When shelling out so many sites that I'm doing, I don't have time to do design work on them. I did go to school for it, but I'm trying to break 300 sites by Christmas and I can't waste time on designing logos for each site. One idea is to outsource. I've used www.GotLogos.com and they have a good thing going on. $25 a logo. Not bad price and the designs are decent too. Check them out and let me see your logos you purchase.

I Can't Find Your Adsense!

Cool thread over at DP regarding sites that have integrated their adsense really well. I'm seeing some nice designs and insertions into the general copy of the site. I'll be showcasing one of my sites really soon. Just picked up another little piece of software that helps keep the pages "appear" fresh for my directory generator sites.

Exciting!

I'm excited for the future! Yesterday, we had a going away party for my Dad (he's off pursuing his new business in Hawaii and will be gone for a few months). We threw a party for him at my Aunt's house. When I was over there, my Uncle's wife and I were doing a little brainstorming and it looks like we're going to start our own little biz together. I'm excited as this is something I really want to do with her. She use to be a VP of a very large company and decided to stay at home for her kids. I'll keep you posted and give you invites to the initial launch.

Directory Generator Project
This project has gotten a little behind over the last few days. I've been picking up a few other things on my plate. I picked up a new employee (my brother) to help run one of my businesses. He loves the idea of getting paid (he's 17 and this will be his first real job; he's going to be my link building engineer)! Word of advice: Bringing on employee's or outsourcing can be one of the most beneficial moves you can make for your business...ever!

I do plan on getting back on track this week with the directory generator sites. Here's a tip: One tool I use to shell out some of these sites is Rss2Blog.

Fear of Missing out!

A friend of mine showed me The Secret trailer. What is the secret? Well, I'm not sure. Sure does look cool and I'm very interested what the secret is. I had to add my name to the list. Watch it.

This is what I'm talking about...

A couple of days ago, Philipp reported about Google having a fulltime Dentist that actually lived at the GooGplex. Everyone was amazed by this and LINKED to the Dentist, that recently started a blog. A lot of high profile blogs and sites linked to this page.

Point: You can't buy that kind of publicity. The person who operates the Google Dentist Blog, now has a nice amount of high authority links pointing to his other sites. Now, he can distribute links from your Google Dentist blog site to other sites needing a good incoming link.

One Word: Brilliant

So... what does this mean for you? You have to think outside the box to attain links. This is a classic example of doing just that.

Traffic Newsletter

Recently launched, TrafficGeni.us is a brand-spankin' new traffic newsletter thats free. I was told it reminicent of the old Trafficology newsletter. I loved trafficology's newsletter. It was always jam-packed with cool and inovative ways to get traffic to your site...online and offline. I subscribed to this TrafficGeni.us's newsletter. We'll see if they can keep it going.

My Case Study: Update 1.1

My first site I uploaded on Sunday made $1.20 yesterday. Just thought I'd share. Keep on truckin'!! :)

My Case Study. Update 1.0

As you know, I'm testing the whole directory generator method case study. I've decided to up the anti a little bit. I'm going to push myself and try and develop at least 5 a day. The cost breakdown goes like this:

Domains - $2.99 a domain
Whois Privacy - $.99 a domain
Hosting - $12.99 a month for 4 domains (varies per host...using multiple hosts)
==============
Roughly $75 per set of 5 domains a day.

This will start to get interesting. At 5 sites a day, that would be 150 sites a month. I'm shooting for 300 in 3 months. I should it that goal in 2, but I'll give myself an extra month...Christmas is coming and that's going to take some money.

300 sites...all doing $5 a day...equates to $1500 a day. Which is $45,000 a month. We'll see how this goes. :) I'm excited! I launched my first site over the weekend. I'll show you a sample site when I have a few up and running.

...stay tuned...

Warrior Case Study

A fellow warrior is doing a case study: "28 days to $2000".

The site is AmazonAcaiBerry.com, which is about Acai Berry.

If you have a blog or site and want to help out, link to them using Acai Berry. I don't directly know him, but I don't mind helping out a fellow warrior.

Thanks!

Adwords advertising

Google is now allowing Adwords customers to advertise on a per page basis. Now, you can advertise on specific pages of a website, not just the whole website in general.

This is awesome! Site-targeting is cool, but page targeting is even better. Some sites are pretty broad in what they cover. This is another + on the board for Google against Yahoo!'s soon-to-be-launched, YPN.

Making money via Adsense Case Study

For all that think you can't make Adsense money via directory generators, this may be for you. Starting next week, I'm going to start launching a site a day. Each site will have adsense codes and 100+ pages within each site. I'll be posting to let you know how my progress is going and the necessary tools to get to where you need to be.

My goal is to be making $5 a day per site. I'll be building a new site every day for 6 weeks, which would equal 42 sites. You can do the math to figure out how much I'll be making per day.

I have some friends that are making extreme amounts of money using these types of directory generators and I've always wanted to give it a little test and see what I can do with my skills. :)

...stay tuned...

RSS keyword research tool

I love new tools! If you use Carp or other RSS parsers (RSS aggregators that turn RSS/XML feeds into content for your site...keeps crawlers coming back...make page look fresh...etc...) then you'll absolutely love this new tool.

Kebberfegg looks up RSS feeds with your keyword in it. It can pull from a variety of sources. Nice tool. I'll definitely be using it in the near future, like in a couple of hours. :)

Keeping Track of Adsense

I was reading a thread over at DP and someone posted an image on his adsense earnings. It was in a graph format and I thought it was pretty cool. I did a little research and found out it was Revenue Checker. This software is neat. Has some functionality to it. Looks like they're also running a special. Nice timing. :)

I'll probably purchase it as I'm doing a little case study with Adsense sites...100's of sites. See how it works. One function I don't see (i guess I'll find out when I purchase it) is if you can view adsense revenue per channel. That would be awesome.
