Link Building Thoughts - DUH!

I've done a lot of link building for a number of various industry sites. I hear all the time webmasters wanting to know "THE BEST STRATEGY" to get incoming links. Well, here's the big secret: Their isn't one BEST.

Let me break it down for you. Now, I'm only talking about strict, large, mothership white hat sites, nothing else. You have to use a whole arsenal of tactics against the search engines. You can't JUST do reciprocal linking...or JUST do text link purchasing via a broker. Use it ALL!

If you bought $500 worth of site-wide links, don't make it obvious that your purchasing links on 10 sites. Go out and purchase some homepage links. Then, write up some content (or pay someone to do it for you) and send it to some large sites in your same niche or comparable vertical. Sprinkle some text link ads and make sure the content is unique and informative and they shouldn't say no to an offer like that. Then, go out and do a few reciprocal linking. Then, find a few specific blogs in your niche and post some comments with a link back to your site. See if the blog owner will do an "advertising post". I could go on...and on...and on...

Point is, is to keep the search engines guessing. It will be obvious to see that you're ONLY doing reciprocal linking, in hopes to gain ranking for a specific keyword. But if you vary your strategy, get links from all over the web and all different kinds of links being implemented to your site, the search engines won't be able to pattern-ize what you're doing and it will look very natural.

And then you'll have great rankings...

And then you can send me a check for my great advice...

:)

Have a great weekend everyone!!
