$15K Challenge and Site-Flipping Challenge

This guy is a man after my own heart...or maybe the other way around. Either way, Dan Raine is awesome. He is chroniclizing his new venture: 30 days to $15k...FOR FREE! WOW! I know. These are great ways to build a rapport with Internet Marketing folk, as well to solidiy himself as a marketer who actually "knows his shit". His blog is where you can get all the juicy info you need. This is excellent and I hope he makes it within the 30 days...or else (there are "or else's" on the blog...check it out).

Site-Flipping Challenge
As I stating in my last post, I'm going to do a little site flipping experiment. I just purchased the articles, which will be on Sprint Cell Phones. Next, I'm going to design the layout and graphics. I should have the articles in a week. I'm having a set of articles I already had re-written, as its just convenient, cheaper and I can still get by the "uniqueness filter" of big G (that would be Google for those who don't know 'Big G'), as well as Copyscape.com.

Site should be done next week. I'll be getting a few links to it. Do a little 'Tag and Ping' and setup StatCounter.com tracking for it. I'll promote for a few days and then sell it off.

Sale Goal: $300

I'll post the site here once I have it ready, as well as where you can purchase it if you're interested.

Site Flipping: Easy Money for Sure

Was over at the DP forums this morning, where I usually go, along with other forums I visit in morning. One of the people I was requesting a link exchange from had a blog in his signature on Site Flipping and his road to success with that..

What's site flipping?

The phrase comes from the real estate market, when you buy cheap and sell high. This has been REAL big the past few years in the US because of the outrageous selling prices on homes, especially where I live.

Recently, I've had the idea to do this. Maybe not so much "flipping", but just building a few 20-25 page sites, with a unique design, unique content and good ad placement. If I make the sites myself and outsource the articles, I'm looking at $76 per site to make. I think for a site with unique content, a few relevant incoming links and a nice design and layout, you could sell for $200-$300. Not a bad ROI. Wouldn't be too time intensive either. If it does start to really turn a decent profit, you could probably outsource the whole project and still make $75 per site, which would be excellent pub money. :)

I'll be putting this little outline into action next week and I'll post high it went if you can turn a profit. Goal is to at least cover costs.

I'll keep ya posted.

Another Person Doin' It Big on the Web

Borgos, a web guy who's been around for a long time online, is selling 50 of his domains. Most of these sites are premium sites.

I was perusing through a few of his sites and found his company site, where he lists all his domains. 3 Letters: W...O...W. That is a ton of domains and sites.

I have some work ahead of me to get to where I need to be...which is a list like that.

There was another thread on DP, where people were complaining on managing 500 domains and how hard it'd be and it couldn't be done...yada, yada, yada.

That's great. Complain that it can't be done. That leaves plenty of room for people who know how to get the job done and can do it. Like I've said before, managing that many sites can easily be done with a structure in place. Plus, once you're at that level of sites, you'll probably be monetizing them pretty well and you'll be able to get a few employees to help out.

Conclusion? Just continue to build sites. Write unique content. Get a few one-way incoming links. Find ways to build content by your visitors doing it.

To your success!

Inspiration - Early 20'ers making big bucks!

I was reading a few posts at the Earner's Forum and Spencer Fry's signature caught my eye. So I decided to check this guy out. Did some searching around GOOG and found out he's 22 and has been doing extremely well online. He's running a company called GameCOMM, which involves using VOIP for gaming purposes.

I found a few of his other sites, like NetBusinessTalk and he lists other youngsters that are doing really well for themselves online. These are the type of people that I should be talking with.

Here are some of the reviews he has on NetBusinessTalk (I've added their ages):

Anthony Bullock - AGE: 19 (blog)
Spencer Fry - AGE: 22 (blog)
Greg Bernhardt - AGE: 23
Patrick O'Keefe - AGE: 22 (blog)
Ed Ireson - AGE: 19 (blog)
Lord Brar - AGE: 21 (blog)

These guys are just KILLING IT! :) It's great to read interviews like these, at least I like them. Great inspiration. Really helps motivate me to reach my $100K (NET) a month goal within the next 5 years.

If you're an early/mid 20'er, let me know. I'd love to do an interview sometime soon!

Awesome SE Data - Click Thru Rate via AOL DB

The Earner's Forum has pulled together great information from the recently released AOL search engine data. I copied this info form breakpoint's post:

Results in:
Total Searches:9,038,794
Total Clicks: 4,926,623

Click Rank1: 2,075,765
Click Rank2: 586,100 = 3.5x less than ^
Click Rank3: 418,643 = 1.4x less than ^
Click Rank4: 298,532 = 1.4x less than ^
Click Rank5: 242,169 = 1.2x less than ^
Click Rank6: 199,541 = 1.2x less than ^
Click Rank7: 168,080 = 1.2x less than ^
Click Rank8: 148,489 = 1.1x less than ^
Click Rank9: 140,356 = 1.05x less than ^
Click Rank10: 147,551 = 1.05x more than ^

Goes to show how vital it is to rank #1 for your rankings (not like you didn't know already). I know some people settle for anything on the first page of results for keywords, but when the difference is 3 times more traffic (from #2 to #1), being numero uno is a definite goal on every SEO project you tackle.

Even though it was such a fluke (or was it?) that the AOL search engine DB got out, lots of quality information can be attained from it, besides just using the keywords to generate hundreds of thousands of spam pages.

This is probably the best quality information of seen from the recent AOL db. Hopefully, we'll see some more in the coming weeks and people continue to parse the data.

Forget Stealing Credit Cards - Myspace Logins

I was checking out my favorite social site, MySpace.com, when I noticed my little brother's girlfriend posts a bulletin about "Check out this girl's pics". Now, for those of you who haven't been on Myspace, each user can post a bulletin to all the members with their little friend's network.

So I click on the link to the girl's page, which happens to be this page here. I thought "weird...looks exactly like Myspace" ...then realized 2 seconds later that it's probably someone stealing myspace logins.

Now you're probably asking: "Why?"

Well, if you have a bunch of logins/passwords, you could do a ton of bulletin spamming via Myspace. PLUS...you'll have a ton of emails to spam as well.

My brother's girlfriend is not computer savvy enough to do something like this (she's only 16), so my guess is someone has also written a program to automatically post bulletins on her behalf.

Be on the look out if you do go on Myspace.

Taking Notes: VRE Network

First, let's clear what a "VRE Network" is. VRE stands for "Virtual Real Estate". Some people say John Reese coined the phrase. The phrase maybe be new, but the concept has been around since the web was made. Basically, having your own little network of sites, all working together to make you money on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. Kinda like real estate, but for the internet. More property you own, the more "residual" income you'll be making.

I was browsing thru images in Google and I found abc-of-yoga.com which lead me to MaxLifestyle.net. This is an excellent example of a VRE Network. Great URL structures on each site too. They have several informational sites on "topic" information, then shopping for "topic" and finally "topic" travel spots. Awesome! I even like the way they've laid out the advertising on the site. Great integration of affiliate links and shopping. Take notes!

As I'm a strong advocate of diversification of making money online (and offline for that matter), I've been getting my own VRE network going. White Hat VRE network that is, starting with YogaInformer.com. I suggest getting started now, if you don't have a network going already.

As I always preach, 5 years is going to come whether you want it to or not. Would you rather have 20 sites generating $50 a day per site or finally taking the timid step of starting a site?
